Dream Wedding at Rowton Castle

The Booking.

It was back in September when I got a call from Pete (the Groom) asking about my availability for his wedding day - Which just so happened to be just a few weeks later! We had a great chat and I could tell by his excitement and extravagant plans that it would be a fantastic wedding. After discussing what would suit his day best, he mentioned a few other things he had planned for the day, and also said I’d be kept a surprise for the Bride!

Pete opted for a Custom Package combining my Daytime Package with a couple of Acoustic Sets in the evening, so I was delighted to be a part of their entire wedding day (and big plans!). If you haven’t found a Package that suits your needs, please don’t hesitate to get in touch to discuss your requirements.

Day of The Wedding.

The venue Pete & Clare chose for their wedding was the stunning Rowton Castle. A 17th Century Grade II Listed Castle wedding venue tucked away in the Shropshire countryside. I always like to arrive really early to get set-up and become familiar with the space. As soon as I arrived at Rowton, one of the first things I noticed - especially for such a large building - was it’s homeliness and welcoming atmosphere. Rich with original features, paintings and staff that don’t blink an eye at going the extra mile, Rowton Castle soon become one of my favourite venues.

The plan was to perform as guests were being seated and then return to perform during the signing of the register, and as the Bride & Groom made their exit as newly-weds! While I was performing, the amazing photography couple at A & R Photography and Design were busy snapping some photos of the Bride & Groom as well as some of the room, and ME! (All of the photos in this blog post are from the wedding day and taken by arphotoanddesign.com - Please consider them to shoot your wedding).

As the guest started to leave shortly after the ceremony, the staff began turning the room around ready for the wedding breakfast.. All while Pete & Clare’s next amazing plan for the day landed in the castle’s grounds…

Epic Drinks Reception.

While speaking on the phone with Pete, he told me that one of his amazing plans for his and Clare’s wedding day was to have a tour of the area in a Helicopter during the drinks reception! That’s definitely something you don’t see at every wedding.

While the guests enjoyed a drink or two in the lounge of Rowton Castle, I got ready for my next performance. 2 x 45 minute sets during the Wedding Breakfast. Pete & Clare left me to pick the songs which went down brilliant. During the meal I like to play a selection of melodious songs from the likes of Ed Sheeran, Jack Johnson and George Ezra as well as some country songs, such as In Case You Didn’t Know and Beautiful Crazy (click the song title to watch my cover video of the song).

Evening.

As we moved into the evening after some heartwarming speeches, it was time to party! I always love this part of the day as it’s nice to see the Bride & Groom let their hair down after the formal stuff is out the way and end their day with a bang with family and friends.

What is even more special for me is performing the first dance song. Pete & Clare chose Perfect by Ed Sheeran which is always a fantastic choice both lyrically and musically. After beautifully dancing away as a newly married couple it was time for some upbeat songs. One song in particular had the Groom up on stage with me performing a duet!

See For Yourself.

Throughout the day Nicole Amy Visuals was capturing all the special moments on camera. From getting ready at the start of the day, to capturing those special moments during the ceremony, the epic helicopter ride, right up to the first dance and beyond. Check out the incredible film of Pete & Clare’s dream wedding at Rowton Castle below! (And see if you can spot me and my cover of Perfect!).
